Our Addiction to Fossil Fuels Continues
Like it or not, we must kick our addiction to fossil fuels if we are to have any hope of halting the alarming future that Global Warming could bring. A paper titled the Statistical Review of World Energy 2015 by none other than major offender, BP, finds that fossil fuel consumption in 2014 increased. The same study named the US as the world leader in natural gas and oil production, producing 11.6 billion barrels of oil in 2014. That is an increase of 16% from 2013 levels. Russia and Saudi Arabia come in next, with Saudi Arabia producing a nearly identical 11.5 billion barrels. U.S. oil production increased by 1.6 million barrels per day.
